Preparing a PPC Ad Spend Budget

When creating a PPC Campaign your budget matters, but how do you know where to best spend your dollars?

SELECT THE RIGHT KEYWORDS FOR YOUR ADCOPY

Focus on keywords that show immediate intent. What does that mean? Think of the many simple ways people type in their searches. For example: the term "Buy play station", instead of "play station" will be searched for more readily. Remember that search terms like these will have a higher click-through and conversion rate.

Target geographic areas important to your business

A simple mistake many businesses tend to make is casting their radius net too wide or too small. Remember to target the areas that are closet to your business first and then move outward.

Research the best times of day to run your ads

Use the analytics available to you to see what time of day people tend to respond to your ads and cater to that time. This will allow you to spend your ad budget more wisely and have a greater ROI.

Format your ads for customers’ devices.

Did you know that people tend to use their laptop or desktop to search for more expensive items, but their cell phones for lower ticket items? Knowing this information will allow you to bid of keywords more effectively.

USE KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS (KPI’S) TO MEASURE SUCCESS

Go back to the goals of your campaign. Was your goal to get 100 more email subscribers monthly? To increase unit sells by 15%? Monitor your campaigns and see what, if any tweaks need to be made in order to reach your goals.
